Enjoy the magic of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in our themed weekend of dance at the RAD’s global home for dance.

Enjoy workshops in different dance styles from ballet repertoire, to Hip Hop with ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company – plus arts and crafts and more! View all the workshop times and descriptions below.

Walk-in spaces are subject to available places on the day. Online booking for the dance workshops has now closed.

We welcome you to enjoy themed arts and crafts and discover ALiCE in VR Wonderland now from just £4 per person (limited availability, book a guaranteed time-slot). This includes the opportunity to join our fun letter-hunt around the RAD, and enter into our Prize Draw where you could win a special Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea for two, at the Sanderson Hotel London (valid for 12 months and worth £65 per person!)

NEW Hip Hop workshops with ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company
Find your groove with hip hop sessions inspired by ZooNations’ production, The Mad Hatters Tea Party. Older students will have chance to learn repertoire directly from the show, with the wonderful March Hare himself, Bradley Charles!

  • Age 4-7: 10-10.45am

NEW Vocational Students 1-day Intensive
Join Aoi Nakamura from Jasmin Vardimon Company to explore their production of ALiCE, between 10am-3.30pm. Recommended for dance students aged 14-18 years, studying GCSE and A Level dance and/or RAD Intermediate ballet, the equivalent and above.

Discover key characters and develop your own movement style in a fun 1-1.5 hour workshop, with Laura Heywood.

These are all general level workshops that encourage creative expression

NEW Project B: Repertoire 1-day Intensive
Take part in ballet, repertoire and creative dance sessions with Gavin Fitzpatrick and Kevin Young, between 10am-3pm.

  • Experience ‘Alice in VR Wonderland’ with Jasmin Vardimon Company
    Step out of the ordinary and into the unexpected, fantastical, and fearless world of Alice – a multi-sensory virtual reality experience. This 20 minute virtual reality experience is designed for age 7+.
    Please read the health warning ahead of making your booking.
    A limited number of 30-minute slots are now available to book separately here.
  • Craft something wonderland themed! Form origami rabbits, to our take on the Cheshire cats grin and a White Rabbit pocket watch!
  • Enjoy a fun letter hunt around the building for entry into the prize draw where you could win a Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea for two at the Sanderson Hotel (worth £65 per person!), or an Alice in Wonderland book, with wonderful designs and artwork by studio MinaLima who created all the graphic elements for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! What’s more… the book will be signed by the RAD’s Artistic Director, Alexander Campbell (former Principal dancer with The Royal Ballet) who played the role of a tapping Mad Hatter, in Christopher Wheeldon’s production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland!

Learn classical repertoire adapted to your level. This is a wonderful way to challenge yourself, to learn and rehearse choreography and feel a sense of accomplishment in performing a group dance.

  • Adult repertoire workshop with Clare Freeman-Sergeant and pianist accompaniment, suitable for those age 18+ (2.5 hours)
    • 10am-12.30pm – Level 1: For dancers who are studying at General and Improvers level, attending weekly classes. Not suitable for complete beginners. Good availability
    • 1.30-4pm – Level 2: Suitable for dancers currently studying RAD Intermediate Foundation and above, or equivalent. Good availability
  • Silver Swans repertoire workshop with Lisa Marie Probert and pianist accompaniment, for those age 55+ (2 hours)
    • 10.30am-12.30pm – Morning: General Level. Not suitable for complete beginners. SOLD OUT
    • 1.30-3.30pm – Afternoon: General Level. Not suitable for complete beginners. Last remaining places

Booking process

  • Places are limited in each workshop and secured on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Payment is required at the time of booking.
  • An automatic email will be sent via the booking platform Cvent to confirm your registration and payment were successful.
  • Please quote the Cvent order no/ticket ref. when contacting the RAD with any queries related to your booking.
  • Please read and familiarise yourself with our workshop and short courses’ Terms & Conditions before you book, this includes our cancellation and withdrawal policy.
  • When a class is fully-booked, a waiting list will be activated. The Learning and Participation team will contact you via email should a suitable place become available.
  • After the closing date, you will receive an additional confirmation by email, detailing registration and collection times for your child, suggested dress, and all other relevant information for the course and venue.
