Join us for a repertoire workshop based on Giselle as part of our Summer 2025 programme.

The workshop will begin with a ballet technique class, before moving on to learn a piece of repertoire from Giselle, featuring live piano accompaniment.

For weekly classes that focus on solo choreography from the classic ballets, please refer to the RAD syllabus Discovering Repertoire.

Class information

We offer two different levels to choose from depending on your experience:

  • Level 1: Open to dancers who are at taking non-syllabus ballet classes at a general level and have some knowledge of ballet technique.
  • Level 2: Suitable for dancers currently studying RAD Inter-Foundation and above, or equivalent.

Please note, these workshops do not include pointe work.

Faculty

Damien Lee Stirk

Damien is a highly motivated professional dancer, actor, and classical ballet teacher with over two decades of performing and teaching experience across esteemed international dance and theatre companies.

In 2011, he graduated with distinction from the Professional Dancer’s Teaching Diploma (PDTD) at the Royal Academy of Dance and remains a regular guest teacher with the RAD.

As the founder and director of The Dancers Studio London, Damien provides dancers with opportunities to train in some of the city’s most inspiring and renowned dance spaces, fostering creativity, excellence, and technical growth.

In addition to his teaching and leadership, Damien continues to perform as an actor with The Royal Ballet, appearing in many of the company’s major repertoire, including Don Quixote, La Bayadère, Manon, Romeo and Juliet, and Swan Lake.

Damien’s dedication to both the artistic and educational aspects of dance continues to inspire and elevate dancers of all levels.

Dancers who are members of the RAD will receive a discounted price. Please enter your RAD ID when prompted to do so during the booking process to receive this discount.

Booking process

  • Places are limited in each class and secured on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Payment is required at the time of booking.
  • An automatic email will be sent via the booking platform CVENT to confirm your registration and payment were successful.
  • Please quote the CVENT order no/ticket reference when contacting the RAD with any queries related to your booking.
  • Please ensure you have read the Terms and Conditions, which includes the RAD’s cancellation policy.
  • When a class is fully-booked, a waiting list will be activated. The Learning and Participation Team will contact you via email should a suitable place become available.
  • After the closing date, you will receive an additional confirmation by email, detailing registration times, suggested dress, and all other relevant information for the course and venue.
