Join us from 11–15 August for an exciting free week of dance. As part of the London Borough of Culture programme, we’re running short courses across the borough—in Battersea, Putney, Balham, and Tooting—designed especially for beginners. You’ll learn the fundamentals and get moving with confidence.
Over the week, you’ll also work on a special piece called ‘Elements of Romeo and Juliet’, choreographed by Shevelle Dynott, former dancer with English National Ballet. You’ll discover how to bring characters to life through dance, movement and storytelling.

At the end of the week, all groups will come together to perform at RAD headquarters in a chance to show off everything you’ve learned and celebrate your debut.
Criteria
Children must be:
- 11 – 13 years old,
- live in or go to school in the borough of Wandsworth, and
- have not attended regular dance classes before or haven’t done so in the last 3 to 5 years. (This does not include P.E. at school or one-off dance workshops).
