Following on from our July 2024 CPD session, “The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child – Children’s Rights in Malta”, this new lecture will explore the realities and challenges children face in today’s digital world – specifically within dance education settings.
Led by the Office of the Commissioner for Children in Malta, this interactive session will present real-life scenarios and equip dance teachers with the knowledge and confidence to support and safeguard children online.
Aims
This session aims to raise awareness of online risks for children and the critical role adults play in creating a safe and supportive digital environment. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the online challenges children face today and how these might surface in dance education contexts.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will:
- Have an increased understanding of children’s online risks and how to identify them,
- Have an enhanced understanding of the role of adults in keeping children safe online,
- Be more aware of what children are exposed to online, and
- Acquire the knowledge on how to help children.
