In memoriam – Gillian Quinn

Today we heard of the recent passing of RAD examiner, Gillian Quinn. Her daughter has sent us a few words to commemorate her life.

Gillian danced from the moment she could walk. Her love of dancing continued through life, taking her around the world performing. Gillian established her school in 1957 followed by her charity Dance Kaleidoscope in 1964, bringing her love of dancing to people all over the world. Gillian examined for the RAD for many years, making lifelong friends and gathering wonderful experiences along the way. For her lifelong contributions to dancing and theatre, Gillian was awarded an MBE.

In later years, following a step back from teaching classes, Gillian continued to produce full stage ballets and tour with Dance kaleidoscope around Europe on alternate years.

Her daughter Hilary Anderson will continue the school in place of Gillian.
