Rhythms of Immunity 2025

Following on from the successful collaboration between the Francis Crick Institute and the RAD, a series of public engagement events alongside the Centre of the Cell, Queen Mary University of London have been organised that bring to life the immune response to viruses and vaccines through science workshops, choreography, dance and film.
On Saturday 21 June, Crick scientists and dancers from the RAD will host a workshop inviting participants to move like a virus or a lymphocyte and groove through a vaccine dance. Participants will have the opportunity to meet immunologists, choreographers and dancers and discuss the vaccination process and biology of the different ‘characters’ in the choreography, eg, lung cells, viruses, lymphocytes, and vaccines.
Dennie Wilson, Programme Manager, Faculty of Education, RAD explains: “This project exemplifies the transformative power of dance as a medium for education and communication. By collaborating with the Crick Institute, we have created a unique and engaging way to explore complex scientific concepts, making them accessible to a wider audience.”
If you would like to join in the fun, pop along to the Crick’s Discovery Day on Saturday 21 June and enjoy the outside activities going on throughout the day in Kings Cross, London.
