Private lessons offer one-to-one coaching on RAD syllabus or non-syllabus work

Lessons are available for individuals aged 6 and above to assist with preparation for exams, studying a new syllabus, improving your technique for an audition or generally enhancing skills.

Although we will do our very best to accommodate your request, this cannot always be guaranteed due to limited teacher or studio availability. To ensure our team has adequate time to organise your lesson, forms must be submitted no less than 2 weeks prior to the desired lesson date.

We do not offer Private Lessons for competitions, couples dancing, or any style other than Ballet.

Private lesson fees for students:

£80 per hour (without pianist)
£112 per hour (with pianist)

Private lesson fees for dance teachers:

£95 per hour (without pianist)
£125.50 per hour (with pianist)

Personalised Programmes

Personalised programmes are available for a group of students. A quote will be based on the tailored timetable of activity (across 1 or more days) or in accordance with the workshop content and duration requested. To request a Personalised Programme, please fill out the form below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I observe a private lesson?

No observation of lessons is permitted.

How do I make payment for a Private Lesson?

An invoice will be presented to you at the time of confirming the booking. As per the booking terms, invoices must be settled 24 hours in advance of the first booking date; or if on a Sunday 48 hours in advance. Please refer to the booking terms for details of how you can pay by bank transfer or on the telephone with a debit or credit card.

Do you need to be a student of the RAD Dance School to have a private lesson?

Anyone can apply to have a private lesson at the RAD headquarters, you do not need to be attending classes.

On which day do you organise private lessons?

There is no set day for private lessons, these can be arranged for any day of the week, Monday – Sunday. This will all depend on studio and faculty availability. When submitting your request form we ask that you provide a selection of dates and we will do our best to provide a match and advise on the options available to you. Please detail in the ‘other information’ section any restrictions on time of day for your selected dates.
