Managing your Mental Health and Wellbeing – Level 1 Online Course
Within this online course you will gain practical tips and suggestions for improving your own mental health and wellbeing. This includes the relationship between mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Aims
The aims of this course are to:
- understand the links between physical and mental wellbeing and use practical tips for making improvements in your life,
- explain the differences between internal and external sources of stress and identify key sources of stress and ways of reducing and managing these,
- use tools, tips and techniques to improve your mental wellbeing including the worry decision tree, emotional intelligence, resilience, mindfulness and using a growth mindset,
- understand sources of support available if you have concerns about your own mental health and wellbeing, and
- provide further sources to develop wellbeing and resilience.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, you will:
- have an understanding of the the links between aspects of physical wellbeing and mental wellbeing including sleep, exercise and nutrition,
- be able to review levels of stress in your life, distinguish between internal and external stressors and make an action plan to reduce these or manage them more effectively,
- understand the concept of the worry decision tree and practice using this in real life to reduce anxiety and worry,
- understand the concept of resilience and its links to mental health and plan how you can develop this to improve your mental health and wellbeing,
- understand the concept of emotional intelligence and its links to mental health and plan how to improve this to improve mental health and wellbeing,
- understand the concept of mindfulness and its links to mental health and plan how they can use this to improve your own mental health and wellbeing,
- understand the concept of a growth mindset and its links to mental health and plan how you can develop your own mindset to improve your own mental health and wellbeing,
- be able to set SMART targets identifying a minimum of three actions you can take to improve your mental wellbeing, and
- understand the actions you should take and the sources of support available if you are concerned about your mental health.
