Safeguarding Children – Level 3 Online Course

This online Safeguarding Children – Level 3 course provides a thorough understanding of child protection by covering a breadth of topics relevant to anybody with a responsibility for safeguarding children and young people.

This online course can be completed in your own time.

Aims

The aims of this course are to:

  • provide an understanding of what safeguarding children and young people means,
  • provide an awareness of the key legislation and guidance about the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people,
  • provide awareness of your professional responsibilities, as well as those of your colleagues and any partner organisations you work with,
  • provide information about how to document and report concerns relating to child abuse or maltreatment,
  • equip you with skills and an understanding of how to participate in inter-agency working and be supportive to vulnerable children and young children, and their families/guardians where safeguarding concerns have been raised,
  • provide you with information about how to be familiar with your local organisational protocols and referral processes to your local safeguarding team and/or social services, and how to minimise barriers in the referral process, and
  • how to be aware of your information sharing responsibilities within and across multi-disciplinary teams.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course, you will:

  • have an understanding of how to respond to safe guarding concerns,
  • know who to contact when there is a concern, and
  • understand how to fulfil  your  “duty of care”.

Who is the course for?

This online Safeguarding Children – Level 3 course is aimed at those working with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating the needs of a child or young person and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding/child protection concerns.
