Dance your way to a rewarding career
Are you passionate about dance? Have you ever dreamed of turning your love for movement into a fulfilling dance career? Becoming a dance teacher offers a unique blend of artistry, discipline, entrepreneurship, and the ability to inspire others.
As a dance teacher, you’ll be more than just an instructor. You’ll be a mentor, a guide, a champion, and a counsellor. Your ability to inspire others through movement, creativity, and music will shape the future of dance. You’ll have the opportunity to foster a love of dance in your students, helping them to develop their skills, confidence, and self-expression.
But a dance teacher’s role extends beyond the classroom. By training as a dance teacher with the RAD, you’ll gain the skills to become an entrepreneur, whether you choose to freelance or build your own dance school. This opens up a world of possibilities and job security, and you’ll have the freedom to create your own teaching style, build your own brand, and set your own hours.

Performing
As a dancer wanting to improve your technique and performance, or looking to become a professional, competitions are a great way to develop your stage presence and to make lifelong friendships with other dancers.
Our flagship event, The Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition (formerly known as the Genée), is staged every year at famous venues all around the world. As well as being known as ‘the friendly competition’, it has seen many competitors go on to join some of the top ballet companies.
“My fondest memory of the Genée was performing in the final on the Sydney Opera House Stage in front of my hometown. The atmosphere was electric!”
Steven McRae, Principal Dancer with The Royal Ballet (Gold, 2002)
