Join us as we launch the RAD’s Musical Theatre Syllabus! Be among the first to enter students for the new exams.

Explore the RAD’s brand-new Musical Theatre syllabus in a dedicated three-day Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course designed to equip teachers with the skills, insight, and confidence to deliver this exciting new genre.

Across three days, the course covers how to deliver singing, acting and dancing in your classes, with a view to preparing your students for exams. You don’t necessarily need to have had previous experience in all three areas: you will take away the skills and confidence to incorporate this exciting new genre into your studio.

RAD Registered Teachers must attend and complete the full course to be eligible to enter students for RAD Musical Theatre exams, making it an essential step for those looking to embrace this new business opportunity.

Teachers without RAD Registered Teacher status may attend the course however, only RAD Registered Teachers can enter students for RAD Musical Theatre exams. Find out more about eligibility to become an RAD Registered Teacher here.

Please note that for 2027, Musical Theatre examinations in New Zealand will be available via filmed examination only.

Hannah Robson

Originally from the UK, Hannah’s professional training began at Newcastle College of Performing Arts, where she studied Musical Theatre and gained a BTEC National Diploma. She then went on to undertake full-time professional training at Phil Winston’s Theatreworks, where she trained extensively across all genres of dance, with a particular specialisation in Musical Theatre.

Following her professional training, Hannah enjoyed an extensive career in the performing arts, including working as a Dance Captain aboard P&O Cruises, where she managed the Headliners Theatre Company. She has performed throughout the UK as a dancer and singer and has also featured in television and commercial work, including the PlayStation 3 SingStar advertisement.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, Hannah has developed a wealth of knowledge across dance, musical theatre and performance. She holds an Associate qualification in Modern Dance and a Diploma in Anatomy with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), a Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), as well as teaching certifications in Acrobatic Arts and Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT).

Now as Director of The Academy Dance Studios in Papamoa, Tauranga, Hannah is passionate about creating a positive, inspiring and nurturing environment where students can develop their technique, confidence and love of performing. She is dedicated to sharing her professional experience and knowledge with the next generation of dancers and takes great pride in helping her students discover their own potential and passion for the performing arts.
