This practical course is designed to deepen participating teachers’ understanding of the content and requirements of the Advanced 2 (Female) syllabus. You will explore how to further develop technique, artistry, musicality and creativity in students in relation to the content of the examination.

Aims

This course aims to give participants a greater knowledge of the content and deeper understanding of the appropriate development required for success in the teaching of this syllabi level.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course, participants will understand the:

Aims of the syllabus,
Learning outcomes and assessment criteria,
Choreographic content,
Guidelines on how to further develop technique, artistry, musicality and creativity in students in relation to the content of the examination,
Teaching methods appropriate for the delivery of the syllabus, and
Advice on preparation and procedures.

Dates and Times

This course will be split across three days:

15 February, 9am – 2pm GMT
16 February, 9am – 1pm GMT
17 February, 9am – 12pm GMT

You must attend all three sessions. This course will not be recorded. Please note, the longest session is on the first day, and the following two days are shorter.

You will require the following resources:

This is a practical course, please ensure you have space to move and have your camera turned on to actively participate.

Tutor

Emily Anne Koschyk RAD Teaching Dip Dip LCDD ISTD DDE

Emily trained at London College of Dance and Drama in Bedford and graduated with Distinction in Teaching Studies.

In 1988, she moved to Germany and danced in national television and theatre productions. She taught in various schools around the country before opening her own school in 1998.

During this period, she also led a full-time 3-year teacher-training programme, from which many young aspiring teachers successfully graduated.

In 2020, Emily relocated back to the south of England and now teaches on a freelance basis. She conducts workshops and teaches at various summer schools in Europe.

Since its inception in 2004 Emily has been a tutor for a number of modules of the Royal Academy of Dance’s CBTS and tutors on the PDPTC Programme based in Berlin. She is an examiner and has been invited to be a CPD tutor for all levels from Pre-Primary to Advanced 2 and travels extensively in these roles.
