Benesh for Beginners Tutor and administrator of the Benesh for Beginners programme

María studied the Certificate in Benesh Movement Notation and the Diploma for Professional Benesh Movement Notators at the Benesh Institute, graduating with Distinction in 2005. That same year she joined Scottish Ballet as Ballet Mistress, becoming Artistic Coordinator in 2014, where she remained until 2019.

Maria has been a Guest Lecturer in Benesh Movement Notation at the Superior Dance Conservatoire of Madrid and she was invited to give lectures in Benesh Movement Notation, as well as the importance of dance notation, at several universities in Spain. She translated the Benesh for Beginners programme into Spanish. From 2019 to 2020, she was Benesh Project Manager for Benesh International.

She is currently a Ballet Lecturer for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
