Peter Flew

Chair of Education Subcommittee

Peter is currently Director of the School of Education at the University of Roehampton in South West London, one of England’s largest providers of Initial Teacher Education, training hundreds of teachers for schools across the country each year. Prior to joining the university in 2013, he was a primary headteacher in Godalming, Surrey. He trained to teach in 2002 in Chichester following a career in IT in banking and finance.

Peter brings to the board of trustees many years of experience in leadership in education, the ability to analyse information quickly and accurately, and experience in asking challenging questions to ensure the best experience for the RAD’s students. He believes his role as chair of the Education Sub Committee is to support the Director of Education and the staff in the department to meet its many obligations and to drive the RAD forward. As an educator on the board of trustees, he tries to bring an educational leader’s insight into the marvellous world of dance.

Peter lives in Godalming with three grown-up children and is active in community theatre, regularly performing in musicals and pantomimes (often as the dame!).
