Rachel Newby
STEP Practitioner
Rachel gained a degree in Creative Arts (Dance Major) from Manchester Metropolitan University, began her career at Cheshire Dance, had a great time working as a Dance Artist In Residence in the West Midlands and then moved to London. Her work has taken her around the country; giving some people their first experience of dance and going to the theatre. It’s been an interesting and rewarding journey through dance and performance.
Rachel has danced with giant pencils, performed as a singing dolphin, a ghost, a lion (who of course was the king, so she got to wear a crown!) and a bee called Boris. Theatre tots, Trinity Laban, English National Ballet, DashDotDance, Epping Forest District Council and DanceWest are just some of the companies she has worked with. Rachel enjoys the variety of her work and loves to sing as well as dance. The age range she delivers to is huge too, Rachel currently teaches a dancer who is 92 years young as well as some tiny tots of the age of 2!
