Steve Sacks
President, Advisory Board for the Arts (Europe)
Steve brings a combination of a passion for ballet and for education; expertise in strategy, marketing and digital; and extensive global experience to his role of trustee.
Steve was the Chairman of the Trustees of the English National Ballet School for 12 years, helping it establish itself as one of the leading ballet schools in Europe. He also served on the Board of English National Ballet for nine years, during which time they built and moved into a new home and adopted an exciting new artistic programme. He also chaired the board finance committee for a US-based education charity for 10 years that focuses on helping teenagers from underprivileged backgrounds get into university.
Professionally, he currently runs the European business of the Advisory Board for the Arts, a research and advisory membership organisation that works with large cultural institutions around the world (ballet companies, operas, orchestras, museums, etc.) on their business issues. Previously, he led marketing and the digital business for Selfridges & Co. in London, and prior to that, was the Chief Customer Officer for Burberry Plc where he worked with stores and customers around the world. Steve started his career with McKinsey & Company in Washington DC and London and was a partner there for many years.
