Making a Complaint About an RAD Registered Teacher

RAD Membership Making a Complaint About an RAD Registered Teacher

Before You Submit a Complaint

The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) takes complaints seriously and aims to ensure all concerns are handled fairly and efficiently.

However, it is important to understand that the RAD is a membership organisation and is not an investigatory, regulatory, or governing body. This means there are limits to what we can review and act upon.

We can only consider complaints that fall within our jurisdiction and relate specifically to breaches of our professional standards.

Before submitting a complaint, please ensure you have:

  • Raised the issue directly with the Member or their employer (e.g. school principal)
  • Attempted to resolve the matter informally first
  • Checked our professional register to ensure they hold an active teaching membership with us

We will only consider complaints that have followed this step.

If your concern relates to matters outside our remit (such as business disputes, fees, or legal issues), you may need to contact another organisation or seek independent advice.
