Graduation 2021

Updated 31 March 2021

Since 22 February 2021, the RAD has continued to closely monitor UK government COVID-19 guidelines. It is still not clear from the guidance when we would be permitted to hold large, indoor in-person events, or when there will be no further need to retain social distancing requirements.  Having investigated and considered numerous possibilities and scenarios, we have regretfully concluded that Awards Day 2021 will not be able to take place in-person, and that we will continue with our plans for a virtual ceremony.

We are disappointed that it won’t be possible to celebrate your achievements with you in-person, and understand our decision to go ahead with a virtual ceremony only, will still be a disappointment to many. The virtual ceremony will, however, allow all graduates from across programmes, Faculty of Education and RAD staff an opportunity to come together to celebrate your achievements with your peers, family and friends.

As COVID-19 restrictions ease, the roll out of vaccinations continues and confidence regarding large gatherings and international travel grows, we hope to be able to offer students who do not wish to attend the virtual ceremony in August the opportunity of graduating in-person in the summer of 2022.

You may wish to consult our FAQ about Awards Day 2021. We will update this page with information about the day as appropriate.

Class of 2020
