Our Children’s Summer Camp involves daily classes in ballet, creative dance and arts and crafts. This fun week of expressive movement encourages children to use their imagination to create an original dance.
The programme provides:
- An opportunity to share a creative experience and make new friends
- Access to highly experienced dance teachers in a professional learning environment
- Fun themed classes in different dance styles to develop their understanding of movement and create two unique dance pieces
Here’s what parents of our previous Summer Camp attendees had to say:
“Thank you so much for a wonderful week! My daughter learnt so much from your brilliant teachers and loved the opportunities to meet new people and perform in the studio theatre.”
“All the staff were very supportive! An excellent, safe, creative and uplifting environment.”
“I was pleased they had the opportunity to work on a performance with new teachers and peers and was impressed by how it all came together”

About the faculty
Anna Forbes
Ballet Faculty
Anna was born in Scotland and began dancing from the young age of 2. She moved to England at 11 years old to attend The Royal Ballet School then later moved to Elmhurst School for Dance to complete her training. During her performing career she was lucky enough to dance with some of the UK’s major ballet companies and also appear in London’s West End as Meg Giry in Phantom of the Opera and also the White Cat in CATS. Her passion for teaching has been the one constant throughout her performing career so in 2017 she decided to do her RAD teachers training qualification. Since then she has been teaching full time at various locations around London and also opened her own school up in 2019. She loves working with children of all ages and is excited to meet everyone and teach at the RAD summer school this year.
Belinda Roy
Creative Dance Faculty
Originally from Canterbury, Belinda graduated with a first-class BA (Hons) in Ballet Education from the Royal Academy of Dance in 2019. She also gained a Distinction in becoming a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance and received the Iris Truscott Scholarship in her final year. Belinda then went on to complete an MA in Dance Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, whilst being a member of Transitions Dance Company. It was from this experience that she decided to combine both her teaching and performing career paths.
Belinda teaches ballet, contemporary and creative dance to a wide range of participants in private dance schools and community settings in and around London for organisations such as Rambert and the RAD. She is passionate about helping participants explore their creative potential whilst simultaneously improving their technical ability and confidence.
Belinda is also a freelance contemporary dancer and has performed internationally in stadium events, for television and in theatres including the Royal Opera House.
Belinda’s experience of teaching and performing culminates in fun, challenging and rewarding dance lessons, where the students will feel supported in a safe and positive environment.
Katy Vaughan
Arts and Crafts Faculty
Katy is an artist and illustrator with years of experience teaching arts and crafts to children. She is a published illustrator, including a children’s piano book and professionally designed crafts and colouring pages for children’s events. She currently manages Putney Library where she leads regular children’s activities. Katy is committed to sustainability in her art and is always looking to recycle and repurpose items. In addition to her library work, Katy is a chair of trustees for a children’s art charity which provides opportunities for children from low income families.
Katy also has a PHD in music history and teaches at City Literature Institute. She is involved in community music projects in Wandsworth Libraries.
Content
Each day the children participate in a 45-minute ballet class, a 45-minute creative dance class and a 45 minute arts and crafts session. Children will be grouped by age: 4-5 years and 6-7 years and 8-9 years.
Over the course of the week the children will create two dances in their groups, with their ballet and creative dance teachers.
In ballet, the children will be introduced to ballet steps and classical mime appropriate to their age, with pianist accompaniment.
The children are chaperoned across the day. They will need to come with snacks and a packed lunch.
At the end of each day, there will be an opportunity for the children to reflect and share what they have learned with each other. On the final day families will be able to enjoy a relaxed sharing opportunity.
The 4-5 years and 6-7 years classes are currently sold out. Join the waiting list here
