Join us at the RAD Summer School for an inspiring 2-hour repertoire class led by RAD Artistic Director, Alexander Campbell.

This unique opportunity offers students the chance to learn from an experienced and celebrated performer, gaining invaluable insights into artistry and stage performance. The class will focus on enhancing artistic expression, emphasizing the nuances of movement, musicality, and interpretation in classical ballet.

Participants will explore how to bring characters to life through dance, developing the skills to elevate their performance to a professional level.

Ideal for aspiring dancers looking to refine their stage presence and deepen their understanding of ballet repertoire. 

If you are already enrolled in the week long Summer School this class is included in your fee.

We have retained the traditional terms for the boys répertoire class but students may attend according to how they identify.  

Alexander Campbell – Artistic Director RAD 

Alexander trained at The Royal Ballet School and joined Birmingham Royal Ballet on graduation. He joined The Royal Ballet as a Soloist in 2011 and was promoted to First Soloist in 2012 and Principal in 2016.

Alexander was born in Sydney and trained at Academy Ballet, Sydney, before joining The Royal Ballet School. In 2003 he won the silver medal at the Genée International Ballet Competition and was a Prix de Lausanne finalist. He joined Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB) in 2005, and was promoted to first soloist in 2009.

Alexander started as Artistic Director of the Royal Academy of Dance in April 2024, following his role as Principal of The Royal Ballet, a position he held from 2016-2024.
