We’re delighted to welcome EncoreEast dance company for a special live performance at the RAD this summer. Come along and enjoy this wonderful company of adult dancers as they perform live in the Aud Jebsen Studio Theatre.
About the dance company
EncoreEast is a performing company of 19 dancers aged 56 to 84, based at DanceEast in Ipswich. They commission dance artists to teach and create new dance works with us, including Hannah Rudd, Luca Silvestrini, Alethia Antonia, Paul Smethurst, and Luca Braccia. They have performed in Norwich, Ipswich, The Place in London, Tunbridge Wells, Turin and Rome. Larger-scale projects involving other older dancers and companies build the profile and practice of dance with older people, and inspire everyone to see adult dance differently.
About the choreographer, Nora Keela
Noora graduated from London Contemporary Dance School and worked with many UK and European choreographers. She had a longstanding relationship with Henri Oguike Dance and Shobana Jeyasingh Dance, carrying out educational outreach work, workshop planning, mentoring, and rehearsal directing for both companies. She joined DanceEast in 2024 to co-ordinate the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) programme and has taught class for EncoreEast regularly during 2026. She is currently undertaking a BA Honours study in Art and Culture Management at HUMAK University of Applied Sciences.
Noora has a deep understanding and appreciation of the significance of diverse arts and cultures in fostering well-being within a flourishing society. She creates dance through collaboration, as exchanging ideas and minds with others is crucial to replenishing the creative resources. Her mission is to keep dance accessible for all, by raising the standards of dance education provided at the root levels and communities and cultivate fresh creative thinkers and movers at any age.
