Getting to the RAD
Studio Address: Royal Academy of Dance 36 Battersea Square London SW11 3RA
There is a cobbled courtyard and the Royal Academy of Dance written on the bridge linking two buildings should be visible as you enter the cobbled area.
The 170 bus from Clapham Junction or Victoria stops very close to the entrance to the RAD, the stop is announced as ‘Battersea High Street’.
The 19, 49 and 345 buses all stop at Battersea Bridge; the RAD is located at the end of Battersea Church Road nearby, approximately a 10-15 minute walk.
We are not within walking distance of any tube stations, but buses run directly from south-west London.
South Kensington (Piccadilly, District and Circle lines) – Take the 345 or 49 bus from outside the underground station.
Sloane Square (District and Circle lines) – Take the 319 or 19 bus from outside the underground station.
All of the above buses (345, 49, 319, 19) stop at Battersea Bridge and the Academy is a 10 minute walk along Battersea Church Road / Westbridge Road.
London Victoria (Victoria, District and Circle lines) – Take the 170 bus from outside the mainline station. The stop is announced as ‘Battersea High Street’.
The RAD is a 20-minute walk from Clapham Junction station on the overground. You can also take 170 bus from Clapham Junction (exit on Grant Road, bus stop A). This stops outside the RAD and is announced as ‘Battersea High Street’.
There are no parking facilities on the RAD premises but there is metered parking in nearby streets.

From Heathrow Airport
Travel by Heathrow Express train to Paddington Station, then travel by Underground train (District line) to Putney Bridge and take Bus 265 from Stop FB to Roehampton University.
From Gatwick Airport
Travel by Southern Train to Clapham Junction Station. Change trains at Clapham Junction Station and take a Southwest Train to Barnes Station, then take Bus 265 from Stop B to Roehampton University. NB. It may be easier to travel to Roehampton University from Gatwick Airport.
Bus 265 travels from Putney Bridge Underground Station directly to Roehampton University Main Entrance.
SouthWest Trains travel to the nearest station, Barnes Station, from which Roehampton University is a 10 minute walk. Alternatively you can take Bus 265 directly to the main entrance of University from outside the train station.
The nearest underground station is East Putney (District line), which is 1.6 miles from Roehampton University.
Hammersmith (District, Piccadilly, Hammersmith & City lines) Then take 72 bus towards Roehampton.
Putney Bridge (District line towards Wimbledon) Then take the 265 bus towards Tolworth.

For International students… reaching central London
From Heathrow airport…
National Express run frequent coach services throughout the day with journey times to London Victoria of between 45 minutes – 1 hour.
Heathrow Express trains run to and from London Paddington every 15 minutes, and the journey takes 15 minutes. Heathrow Connect trains stopping service to London Paddington runs every 30 minutes, and the journey takes 26 minutes.
London taxis are available outside each terminal. The cost to central London is approximately £45- £70, and the journey time is approximately 1 hour.
The Piccadilly Line runs from the airport into central London.
From Gatwick airport…
easyBus to Fulham Broadway (West London) runs every 15 minutes and the journey takes 1 hour. National Express coaches run every hour and the journey takes 1 hour 30 minutes.
Gatwick Express trains run to London Victoria every 15 minutes, and the journey takes 30-35 minutes. Southern Trains to London Victoria via East Croydon and Clapham Junction run every 15 minutes, and the journey takes 35 minutes.
Journey times and costs vary depending on your destination, but take around 65 minutes to central London.
