Benesh International Member
Benesh Movement Notation (BMN) is a system for documenting human movement.
We support the dance community by guarding choreographic copyrights, educating upcoming choreologists, and nurturing the BMN community.
RAD Student
If you are studying on a Faculty of Education programme, you are entitled to free Student Membership during your studies.
You can upgrade to RAD Member Plus at any time at a reduced rate.
RAD Life Member
Life Membership is awarded after 42 years of full membership and completion of RAD Advanced 1 Vocational Graded Examination (formerly Intermediate Major).
It recognises long-standing commitment to the RAD community.

What are the RAD Membership categories?
We offer several membership types designed to suit different stages of your dance journey.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced teacher, there is a category to suit you, and we’ll help you find it when you join.
We offer five types of membership: RAD Member, RAD Member Plus, RAD Registered Teacher, RAD Teacher, and Faculty of Education Student Membership.
I can’t afford membership, is there support available?
We offer a range of options for members experiencing financial difficulty. Flexible payment options may be available. Please contact membership@rad.org.uk for support.
How do I apply for membership if I live outside the UK?
You can apply directly through our website if you live outside the UK.
If you are based in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the USA, please contact your local RAD office, who will support you with your application.

Am I eligible for Registered Teacher membership?
Eligibility depends on your training and qualifications. You can complete our form on the Teach Dance page to see whether your qualifications lead to Registered Teacher Status.
