Genée 2019 priority booking now open to RAD members

The Genée International Ballet Competition 2019 will be held in Toronto, Canada, from 20-29 August. 

Priority booking for RAD Members opens today. Tickets start from $50 and Members can take advantage of 20% off tickets to the final. The early bird rate is valid until 31 March and you can find full details of how to purchase your discounted tickets in the Members' Area.

The semi-finals will be held at Canada's National Ballet School on 26 and 27 August, with the final taking place at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on Thursday 29 August.

Candidate applications will be open from 3-28 June and students wishing to be considered for a bursary must apply between 25 January-1 March. Candidates can register their interest here.

The judging panel for the 2019 competition will be:

  • Karen Kain, Artistic Director of the National Ballet of Canada (final only)
  • Dame Monica Mason, former Director of The Royal Ballet
  • Mikko Nissinen, Artistic Director of Boston Ballet
  • Magdalena Popa, Principal Artistic Coach of the National Ballet of Canada (semi-finals only).
