Project B update
Project B, launched last summer, aims to inspire boys to take part in dance by widening access and encouraging engagement through a variety of styles.

We are reaching out to parents, teachers, dancers, boys and men across the globe to spread the word about Project B and help us create more of a male presence in the dance community.

masterclasses and workshops

UK
This year will see Boys' Ballet Masterclasses take place in London, Edinburgh, and Leeds

Australia
We will host several boys activities throughout the year, including Boys Only.

Need some inspiration? Hot off the press is the release of our Australian Project B video, which was recorded at Boys Dance 18 in Adelaide last month.

Bursaries

If you would like to become a dance teacher, we have special bursaries available for male students who apply for various RAD Faculty of Education programmes.

If you just want to get involved and dance, our GCSE and A Level Dance programmes and other student activities in the UK also have bursaries attached which you can apply for.

Project B Dance Challenge

Taking place on 29 April, the Project B Dance Challenge will award two new UK summer school bursaries to male students, judged by RAD Male Dance Ambassador and former Birmingham Royal Ballet Principal Dancer, Iain Mackay.

The Kevin O’Hare Bursary will award a fully funded place (tuition and accommodation) at the RAD's Dartington summer school, and a tuition-only place at the London summer school.

Taking place at RAD headquarters in London, the Project B Dance Challenge is open to dancers aged 8-18, of all levels and styles. Winners will be chosen based on their potential, as well as technique.

Project B arrives in Las Vegas

The City of Entertainment is set to host a Project B taster workshop later this year, thanks to a new partnership between the RAD and Dance Teacher Web Conference and Expo.

RAD Examiner Paul Doyle will deliver the taster workshop as part of the conference, which takes place across four days. It will be a chance for teachers to take inspiration from Iain Mackay’s Project B choreography, and to share tips and tricks for getting more boys through the studio doors.

RAD members can receive an exclusive discount for the conference. Find out more.
