Students from around the capital take part in ‘Step Around Town’

Events, organised by Step into Dance, the UK’s largest inclusive secondary school programme, saw over 400 dancers from 40 groups across seven boroughs.

Taking place over the last few weeks, the special performances were part of ‘Step Around Town’, a series of  lively and eclectic dance evenings featuring schools taking part in the Step into Dance programme, run in partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation.

Events were held at venues in Bromley, Barnet, Greenwich, Southwark, Tottenham, Tower Hamlets, and Wandsworth, the latter taking place at the brand new RAD headquarters.

Tim Arthur, Chief Executive at the RAD said:  “I was blown away by the passion, skill and sheer joy I saw on stage last night of the amazing dancers from our Step Into Dance programme.  I am so proud of this project, which would not be possible without the support of the fantastic Jack Petchey Foundation.”

Gerard Charles, RAD Artistic Director said: “The Step Around Town events are a fantastic opportunity for students to come together to celebrate with each other, and to experience performing for an audience. It is always inspiring to see the positive results of their work and the diversity of their performances.”

Well done to all who took part!
